Fairfield produced the primary drive for the majority of high capacity chair lifts built in the western United States in the 1980s.  The one pictured is a 1000HP detachable at Mammoth Mountain in
Southern California.

We also made the accelerator drives that synchronized the chair with the cable before attaching it.  The same device was used to slow the chair to a stop when detached from the cable.
